Muslim Youth Mental Health
Winter 2018 | January - May, 2018
Please join us for an action-oriented, community engagement course focused on Muslim youth mental health. This course is primarily geared towards parents, caregivers, youth workers, and community members working with Muslim youth. We will learn about youth mental illness and addiction in the Muslim community, dispel myths and misconceptions, highlight youth voices, and go through the Qur'an, sunnah, seerah, and history. Lastly, we will brainstorm together as a community on what we can do as parents and role models to eradicate mental health stigma and ensure that our Muslim youth thrive in Canada. May Allah grant us success.
This is an online course, comprising pre-recorded lectures and assignments. We will upload videos each week together with assignments. We will also arrange special live Q&A sessions with Dr. Farah Islam.
